Job description

The Human Resources Director serves as a strategic business partner to executive leadership and is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Human Resources function. This position develops and executes HR strategies that support organizational goals while ensuring compliance with employment laws and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team.

The successful candidate will balance strategic planning with operational excellence and will be comfortable leading organizational change, coaching leaders, improving systems, and developing HR best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ยท Provide strategic HR leadership aligned with organizational goals and long-term business strategy.

ยท Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, employee relations, and talent management.

ยท Build a high-performing HR organization.

ยท Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and employee retention initiatives.

ยท Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

ยท Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

ยท Lead employee relations investigations and provide guidance on complex personnel matters.

ยท Manage organizational training and leadership development initiatives.

ยท Analyze HR metrics and workforce trends to support data-driven decision-making.

ยท Oversee HR systems, records, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

ยท Partner with department leaders to build a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.

ยท Support organizational growth, change management initiatives, and succession planning.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

ยท Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.

ยท Minimum of 8โ€“10 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience, including leadership and supervisory responsibilities.

ยท Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and HR best practices.

ยท Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing organizational strategy.

ยท Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.

ยท Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining sound judgment and professionalism.

PREFERRED:

ยท SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), PHR, or SPHR certification.

ยท Active involvement with SHRM or another professional Human Resources organization.

ยท Experience leading HR within manufacturing, nonprofit, government contracting, or other complex, multi-division organizations.

ยท Experience utilizing HR technology, reporting tools, and other business systems to support efficient HR operations and data-driven decision-making.
