Job description

Summary:
The Lead Public Areas Attendant supports the Housekeeping team by leading through example, training new Public Areas Attendants, ensuring public spaces meet hotel cleanliness standards, and promoting productivity and quality. This working lead also helps maintain organized and clean back-of-house housekeeping areas..
The pay rate for this position is $19.00-$22.80 hourly. This is the pay rate for this position that The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor new Public Areas Attendants on cleaning procedures, safety, and brand standards.
  • Inspect public areas (lobbies, restrooms, hallways, etc.) to ensure they meet quality standards before being released.
  • Coach team members on cleaning quality, productivity, and proper procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, closets, and storage areas.
  • Monitor supply levels and report maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Assist with public area cleaning and daily housekeeping operations as needed.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and excellent guest service.
  • Use devices (such as iPhone or tablet) for order requests and task management.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests with a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to push and pull moderate weight.
  • Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of hotel housekeeping or public areas experience required.
  • Previous lead or training experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable speaking to guests with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to coach others while maintaining a team-focused attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical duties of housekeeping.
  • Flexible availability to work weekends and holidays with AM and PM shifts.
