Work Location: Herndon, VA, 20170

Job Description:

A Senior BI / Tableau Developer with strong analytical skills. This individual will be responsible for the design and development of analytics and reporting on a Business Data Mart. The successful candidate will have Tableau development, Tableau Server experience and SQL writing experience.

 Primary Tasks:

  • Design, develop, optimize, test, and support complex and interactive Tableau Dashboard reports
  • Recommend Dashboards per Tableau visualization features
  • Draw upon the full range of Tableau platform technologies to design and implement reporting capabilities and create advanced BI visualizations
  • Experience with Tableau security
  • Experience in Tableau architecture, publishing to Tableau Server, integration of published workbooks into iFrames.
  • Audit, uncover and resolve data integrity issues within reports
  • Ability to analyze and dissect user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications
  • Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • SQL development background with experience in data mart / data warehouse environments, SQL reporting skills with the ability to create SQL views and write SQL queries
  • Expertise in Data Analytics
  • Data modeling experience desired; preferred to have good understanding of star schemas
  • SAS would be preferred

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within design and development on BI reporting and analytics
  • 3+ years of experience using Tableau Desktop and Server
  • Excellent SQL writing skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a corporate environment
  • Excellent experience with connecting to multiple data sources in Tableau (Oracle, MS Access, Netezza, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of best practices around Dashboards and Report Visualization
  • Strong knowledge of best practices around Self-Service BI
  • Experience creating BI training materials a plus
  • Experience with mortgage industry data a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or qualified BI experience
