Job description

Winpak Lane is seeking a Saw Operator to join our team in Rialto, California. You will cut metal and plastic raw materials from blueprints and work orders while keeping inventory transactions accurate and materials moving to production. This position is ideal for a safety-focused operator who combines machine skills, measurement accuracy, and organized material handling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate band, horizontal, panel, table, and chop saws according to approved procedures.
  • Read work orders and blueprints; verify material, dimensions, tolerances, and completed cuts.
  • Receive, put away, issue, label, and track raw material in the material requirements planning system.
  • Use measuring tapes, calipers, and other devices to verify finished workpieces.
  • Evaluate remnants, optimize material use, and follow approved processes for substitutions or disposition.
  • Move cut material to the machine shop and support cycle counts, shortage research, and inventory accuracy.
  • Identify receipt discrepancies, material defects, equipment concerns, or nonconforming work and escalate promptly.
  • Operate a forklift when authorized and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant manufacturing, saw operation, material-handling, or machine-shop experience, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Knowledge of metals and plastics and safe raw-material handling practices.
  • Ability to use measuring tapes, calipers, and basic shop math.
  • Forklift experience and ability to obtain or maintain required authorization.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete inventory transactions accurately.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly and occasionally handle up to 75 pounds while performing physical work for most of the shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Avante or another enterprise resource planning/material requirements planning system.
  • Experience with cycle counting, material receiving, inventory reconciliation, and remnant optimization.

Level Placement
Level placement is based on relevant experience and demonstrated performance. Level II generally requires 5+ years of relevant experience plus independent operation across department saws, complex blueprint interpretation, inventory problem solving, process troubleshooting, and support for training or continuous improvement.
Additional Details
  • Full-time, non-exempt position based 100% onsite in Rialto, California.
  • Schedule and shift will be confirmed during the recruitment process; overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Travel is generally not required.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, flying debris, temperature changes, and required personal protective equipment.

Compensation
Compensation range: $22.00/hr -$26.00/hr. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience, demonstrated skill level, and other job-related factors.
