Job Description

SIGN-ON BONUS: 1/2 @ 45 days, 1/2 @ 90 days.


The EMT is responsible for administering emergency medical treatment to injured guests and employees. They are also responsible for responding to all fire alarms at Belterra Casino Resort & Spa.

The EMT:

  • Maintains security protection, which includes money transactions, public relations, performing dispatch functions, assisting guests and employees as needed and maintaining order in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responds to calls for medical assistance, performs triage, assesses patient status and provides treatment within the scope of established protocols and certifications.
  • Determines need for and requests assistance from emergency medical response agencies when necessary.
  • Composes clear concise and accurate reports and documents patient medical information in accordance with HIPPA requirements.
  • Maintains order on Belterra’s property providing extraordinary guest service at all times and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers.
  • Responds appropriately to all fire alarm conditions.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of property fire control systems. 
  • Assists guests and employees on directions, proper procedures, and wheelchair assistance within the guidelines of the wheelchair manufacturer.
  • Checks identification of all persons that appear to be under 30 years of age.
  • Monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Reports unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Stays alert, reports, and responds appropriately to all violations on company property.
  • Protects all transfers of money and chips on the casino floor as well as the physical transportation of table fills, table credits, table markers, jackpots, table drops, and Bill Validator (BVA) drops.
  • Operates company vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Performs dispatch activities and logs all dispatches accurately.
  • Carry out instructions provided by the On-Scene Leader during any life safety emergency situation on the vessel and/or land to ensure safety of casino guests, employees and property. 
  • Composes detail accident/incident reports and witness statements when necessary for Security Management to review.
  • Maintains confidentiality with respect to company and guest information.
Qualifications

SIGN-ON BONUS: 1/2 @ 45 days, 1/2 @ 90 days.

  • This position spends the majority of on duty time in public areas of the property, including, but not limited to, the casino, pavilion, restaurants, meeting spaces, rooming areas, parking lots, golf course and grounds.
  • Must be able to traverse stairs, uneven surfaces, varied flooring surfaces and ground covering while patrolling, responding to calls for service or emergency situations.  The majority of on duty time is standing and/or walking.
  • Ability to perform duties under varying conditions, including but not limited to exposure to varying levels of smoke, crowds, noise and changing weather conditions.
  • Ability to compose clear, concise and accurate reports.
  • Must be able to identify and quickly respond to potential problems, altercations and conflicts.
  • Must able to lift up to 50 lbs. when moving money boxes, carts and drop equipment as necessary.
  • Must be able to push and pull weight limits that do not exceed the manufacturer requirements of equipment.
  • Must be able to assist sick or injured guests and or employees.
  • Ability to communicate courteously, effectively and professionally with guests, outside contacts and all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to use tools and equipment such as keys, handcuffs, flashlights, radios, computers and other tools specific to the position.
  • May drive company vehicles at times, and if so, must maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • State of Indiana Emergency Medical Certification required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports.
  • General familiarity with investigative procedures preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate work authorization per gaming regulations.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • AED, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certification, and Blood Borne pathogen training, Preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.

The skills are typically acquired through completion of Emergency Medical Certification, and two months of on-the-job training.
