Position Information
Position Title Adjunct ESL (Non - Credit) Reports To Director of Extensions Centers and ESL Programs
Functions and Responsibilities
Job Summary
The ESL Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to adult learners. The instructor will create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support students in achieving their language learning goals. Additionally, the instructor will collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $50.00 per hour.

Supervisory Role Duties & Responsibilities
1. Design and implement ESL lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of adult learners.
2. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
3. Assess and evaluate students' language proficiency, providing constructive feedback and support.
4. Collaborate with the Director to develop and enhance curriculum materials.
5. Stay current with best practices in ESL instruction and integrate innovative teaching methods.
6. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community.
7. Class schedules may include day, evening or weekend schedules

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
Demonstrated experience teaching ESL to adult learners, preferably in a diverse, multicultural environment. Bachelor's degree in education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)
ESL teaching certification (e.g., TESOL, TEFL, CELTA) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
