Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role requires professionalism, competence, and a commitment to patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the procedure and documentation is accurate.
  • Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety.
  • Operate radiography equipment and accessories effectively to complete procedures.
  • Position patients to best display the anatomical area of interest, respecting comfort and ability.
  • Immobilize patients as necessary for accurate examinations.
  • Determine appropriate radiographic exposure factors and apply radiation protection principles to safeguard patients, self, and others.
  • Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
  • Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs during procedures.
  • Practice aseptic techniques and perform venipunctures when required.
  • Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media as prescribed.
  • Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive fluoroscopy.
  • May perform urinary catheter anchoring if instructed and initiate basic life support when necessary.
  • Provide patient education regarding tests and procedures.
  • Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and assist with supply management.
  • Offer practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all relevant standards and policies.
  • May participate in on-call duties to provide technical assistance or shift coverage as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
  • Computer proficiency is necessary.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Must hold certification at the Comprehensive Practice Level and meet state licensure requirements for whole body radiography.
  • Active certification as R.T.(R) ARRT or equivalent is required.
  • State certification is mandatory.
  • Registry eligibility and attainment of R.T.(R) ARRT credential within six months of hire is expected.

Work Shift: Second shift, part-time, approximately 24 hours weekly.
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
