Job Description
Position Summary:

This search seeks candidates with expertise inmodel-based systems engineering (MBSE), systems architecture, and the Systems Modeling Language (SysML), along with other areas of interest to the SE Department such as: Modeling and Simulation, Systems Science, Systems Thinking, System Dynamics, Foundations of Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, and AI4SE/SE4AI.

Course teaching opportunities associated with this position will primarily support the Department's model-based systems engineering (MBSE) curriculum(https://www.engr.colostate.edu/se/courses/). Current courses relevant to this position may include, but are not limited to: SYSE 567 Systems Engineering Architecture, SYSE 667 Advanced Model-Based Systems Engineering, SYSE 532 Dynamics of Complex Systems, SYSE 530 Overview of Systems Engineering Processes, SYSE 602 Systems Requirements Engineering, and MECH 513 Simulation Modeling and Experimentation.Candidates also have the opportunity to develop new courses aligned with the Department's needs.

This position also supports research activities, advising students,participatingin committees, etc. in alignment with the position's research and service percentages.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Teach Graduate level Systems Engineering courses. Current courses relevant to this position may include, but are not limited to: SYSE 567 Systems Engineering Architecture, SYSE 667 Advanced Model-Based Systems Engineering, SYSE 532 Dynamics of Complex Systems, SYSE 530 Overview of Systems Engineering Processes, SYSE 602 Systems Requirements Engineering, and MECH 513 Simulation Modeling and Experimentation.
  • Advise Systems Engineering Graduate Students.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Aterminaldegree (Ph.D., D. Sc., D. Eng.)inanengineering discipline or a closely related field is requiredbythestart oftheappointment.
  • Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)expertise.
  • Systems-centric teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidates shouldexhibitthe ability and enthusiasm to teach distance education and conventional courses in the curriculum of the Systems Engineering Department.
  • Candidates should have experience with university-focused curriculum development, teaching, and assessmentpractices.
  • Candidates should have industry and applied research experience.
  • Candidates should have experience with CATIA Magic tools (Magic Systems of Systems Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler,MagicDraw).
  • Candidates should be able to attend courses and other events at the CSU main campus on a regular basis.
  • Candidates shoulddemonstratea personal and professional commitment to CSU's Principles of Community, asdemonstratedby involvement in teaching, research, creative activity, and service to the profession.
