Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Centers C130J Enterprise Modification Branch (AFLCMC/WIU) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.ย  The branch plans, integrates, modifies, and sustains SOF/PR variants of the C130J fleet (MC130J, HC130J, LC130J and special mission configurations) to keep platforms modern, survivable, and missionready.

This role provides systems integration expertise in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define total weapons systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, develop system specifications, and perform technological/trade-off study assessments of proposed designs.

Responsibilities

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support systems integration engineering activities for aircraft research, development, production, lifecycle acquisition, and sustainment
  • Assist with technical planning, system integration, risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for SOF systems, including weapons system trainers, operational flight trainers, avionics desktop trainers, courseware, and maintenance training devices.
  • Provide engineering leadership and technical direction in the development of systems operating within largescale distributed and virtualized environments.
  • Apply engineering knowledge of networking principles and implementations, including (but not limited to) Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
  • Develop solutions and support engineering activities on Windows, Sun, Linux, or Unix platforms using languages such as C, C++, and Java.
  • Provide guidance on Information Assurance (IA) accreditation and implement IA controls
  • Deliver technical expertise, guidance, and required artifacts to support systems integration, Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E), and airworthiness certification
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen

Clearance: Secret

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an ABET-accredited engineering program and 3 years of related experience, 3 of which must be in the DoD; OR, 7 years of directly related experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.

Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Technical Skills

  • Experience in the development of systems utilizing networking principles and implementation, including but not limited to TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, and SSL.
  • Development experience with C, C++, and Java on Windows, Sun, Linux and/or Unix platforms
  • Experience with aircraft systems and sub-systems
  • Experience with Airworthiness
