About this Role
Job Title: Engineering Manager - Transmission Line
At QISG, our Transmission Line teams play a vital role in the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of power across communities and regions. We design, build, maintain, and upgrade high-voltage transmission infrastructure that supports the backbone of the electric grid. Whether working on new construction, line upgrades, or critical maintenance, our teams ensure projects are executed with the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Our work involves both traditional methods and the latest industry innovations to deliver sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable solutions for our customers.
The Engineerng Manger will provide engineering, design and drafting in the preparation of all projects assigned. The Engineering Manager will supervise and perform engineering studies/analyses on utility systems, prepare engineering solutions to mitigate system risk, and optimize system investment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with extensive experience in high voltage infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do
  • Provide technical supervision and oversee quality of team deliverables
  • Ensure compliance by being abreast of codes and standards
  • Plan/coordinate pole loading
  • Define plan of control
  • Direct/supervise junior engineers
  • Provide detailed engineering, design and planning assessments and recommendations
  • Evaluate system operations, and provide project scope development for overhead and underground utility systems
  • Plan, develop and coordinate engineering studies on projects with complex engineering solutions to address system risk, reliability and capacity limitations
  • Additional duties as needed and/or assigned

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 10+ Years of Industry Experience
  • Knowledge of various standards of codes
  • Ability to make good business and financial judgements and quick decisions
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles, including understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
  • Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
