HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT
As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the integration and design of complex electrical systems across the vehicle platform. This includes specifying and electrically integrating subcontractor systems such as entry systems, HVAC, fire protection, and lighting. You will design and develop on-board power distribution and supply networks from the main power converter to auxiliary systems, including the onboard, battery, and control power systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the control and operation architecture of the vehicle, designing critical functions and systems such as safety and assistance features, driving data recording, control technologies, train protection, and train communication networks.
Key Activities
• Design of electrical components and specification of systems, functions and associated interfaces in compliance with project requirements
• Integration of assigned electrical equipment and systems into rail vehicles and responsibility for their proper functioning in the vehicle
• Preparation of engineering documentation, such as concepts, specifications, electrical schematic templates, software requirements, type test specifications and verification documents
• Verification and validation of systems through final approval
• Provide technical support of type tests and troubleshooting
• Technical clarifications and cooperation with internal and external project partners (customers and suppliers) in an international environment
• Development and optimization of systems in interdisciplinary teams in compliance with customer specifications, standards and internal requirements
• Technical support for the preparation of offers and tenders
QUALIFICATIONS
• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
• 4+ years of relevant experience in railway, defense, aerospace or similar
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills
• Business fluent in English (German is a plus)
• Experience with schematic software, MS Office, PLM and ECN systems (e.g. E3, SmarTeam)
• Willingness to travel for training, supplier visits and testing on vehicles
