Driven by creativity and a culture of excellence, we believe in the power of engineering to solve today's challenges and create opportunities for tomorrow. What we do matters.
Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer to join our team in a part-time capacity. This role will focus on MRB support for aircraft structural and mechanical systems and component design and analysis support. You will play a crucial role in maintaining product non-conformities and supporting engineering processes, ensuring compliance with certification regulations.
Due to the nature of the project all applicants must be US Citizens or US lawful permanent resident. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform functional analysis for product non-conformities based on design criteria, field serviceable limits, and certification documents of aircraft structural and mechanical systems design issues.
  • Interface directly with internal and external engineering areas involved in non-conformity analysis.
  • Substantiate and present non-conformity dispositions to local authorities as required.
  • Interpret Stress Analysis Reports and documentation according to certification regulations.
  • Suggest analysis for component changes based on production process capabilities or recommend process improvements to reduce MRB.
  • Provide engineering support and review for production process improvements and changes.
  • Evaluate fit, form, function, and life of components relative to the certified configuration.
  • Capture system requirements from customers and integrate them into component designs.
  • Support the team with design and analysis using CAE tools (NX, ANSYS Classic, ANSYS Workbench).
  • Apply technical principles to solve a wide range of engineering challenges.

Required Skills:
  • 25+ years of experience in the gas turbine industry.
  • BS/B.Tech in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks under time constraints.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
  • US citizenship is required due to the nature of work.

Desired Skills:
  • Project Management experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Mostly office environments, occasional shop floor involvement.
  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
  • Work in heavily regulated industries with strict adherence to procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
  • This is a part-time role, with flexible hours ranging from 8-30 per week.
