Job Summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced SEA Systems Engineer 2 to support advanced aerospace and defense programs within the Systems Engineering organization. The selected candidate will lead systems engineering activities including requirements development, system architecture, design reviews, system integration, verification & validation (V&V), and configuration management while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
This position is intended to convert to a full-time Principal Systems Engineer role based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain technical baselines and system requirements using DOORS.
  • Develop functional and physical system architectures.
  • Perform requirements analysis and requirements traceability.
  • Conduct trade studies and evaluate system design alternatives.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews including PDR and CDR.
  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Test Plans, and Verification Matrices.
  • Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) integration activities.
  • Execute Verification & Validation (V&V) activities.
  • Manage system configuration baselines and engineering documentation.
  • Prepare System Requirements Documents, Design Descriptions, Risk Registers, and technical presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support continuous process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • 3-8 years of Systems Engineering experience.
  • Experience within Aerospace or Defense programs preferred.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Requirements Management
    • System Integration
    • Verification & Validation (V&V)
    • Trade Studies
    • Design Reviews
  • Hands-on experience using DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or comparable Systems Engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
