Job description

IT Systems Engineer

IT Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Robinson, IL. The ideal candidate with experience supporting and maintaining Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of critical production systems.

IT Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintain Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure systems critical to refinery production and operations.
  • Administer Windows Server and desktop environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance.
  • Manage backup solutions, virtualization platforms, and network infrastructure to maintain high system availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues while providing ongoing support for critical operational systems.
  • Coordinate technology projects and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Controls, and other refinery departments to support business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and technical requirements while driving continuous improvements in system stability and operational efficiency.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Windows Desktop environments, backup technologies, networking, and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, refinery, industrial, or Operational Technology (OT) environments with strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
