Job description

Salary:

The Mechanical/Structural/Piping Designer will provide computer aided design (CAD) drafting and prepare drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches. This will be accomplished through use of computer aided drawing software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings. Experience with Plant 3D software preferred. Responsibilities include:

  • Design pipe routing, cable routing, etc.
  • Transform initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software.
  • Review engineer drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  • Work closely with engineers and other professionals to create systems designs or processes and develop drawings for a wide variety of systems.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve designs, reduce cost and lead time, and reduce risk.


Requirements

  • AS in Design or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Secret DoD Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance
  • Experience with GD&T
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant3D and/or Solidworks
    SolidPlant 3D
  • Experience designing custom machined components, large assemblies, and piping systems


Desired

  • Configuration Management experience and/or experience with PDM
