Job description

Connexus Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our team as Supervisor, System Operations. The Supervisor, System Operations directs the system operations team in controlling and monitoring of the companyโ€™s distribution system to maximize safety, efficiency, and reliability. This role takes ownership of service interruptions and supervises the service restoration process to ensure our memberโ€™s power is restored, using the tools available in the Control Center, as quickly and safely as possible. This position leads a continually staffed 24x7x365 Control Center and must be able to respond to staffing situations and/or significant distribution system events at any and all hours.

Compensation:

The anticipated hiring range for this position is between $115,000 to $150,885 annually. The final compensation offered is based on the candidateโ€™s experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of annual earnings based on company performance.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day work direction and leadership to System Operators to ensure high accuracy, quality, and efficiency in areas of safety, coordinating and documenting outage restoration, switching, radio operation, and member service.
  • Administer and update department training programs to develop employees and ensure a high level of employee competence and confidence in the operation of complex operational systems.
  • Provide supervision during normal and escalated operations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Electrical Utility Network.
  • Perform day-to-day leadership responsibilities including creating work schedules, approving timecards and time off, administering performance reviews, provide regular performance feedback, recruiting, department financial planning, and lead team through Connexus Energy's cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Connexus Energy leadership, Employee Services and union representatives to administer practices in accordance with union contract language, respond to day-to-day questions and act as a contact during contract negotiations.

Need to have:

  • Associates degree in a related field
  • Five or more yearsโ€™ experience in engineering, construction, or operations for an electric distribution utility
  • Three or more years distribution Control Center operation knowledge and experience

Knowledge of:

  • Distribution electric system operation, electrical theory, and apparatus and equipment
  • National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems (SCADA)
  • Geographic Information System (GIS) and other complex electrical distribution software systems
  • Outage Management System (OMS) processes and procedure
