Job Summary

The IT Project Manager ensures that IT practices remain aligned with business needs and objectives. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of technology and business improvement projects. The Project Manager will oversee projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, timeline, budget, and quality requirements are met. This includes managing new market entry initiatives, acquisitions, and system enhancements for the Retail Energy segment.


Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teams in delivering technology and process improvement initiatives.

  • Facilitate project scope, goals, deliverables, milestones, and resource requirements.

  • Lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and project lifecycle activities.

  • Monitor progress, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards.

Business & Systems Support
  • Provide project management support for new market entry, acquisitions, and operational readiness.

  • Partner with IT, Customer Operations, and Business Owners to deliver system enhancements.

  • Define and document business requirements, develop test plans, and lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

  • Serve as liaison across departments (IT, Regulatory, Marketing, Vendors) to ensure alignment.

Analysis & Reporting
  • Provide analytical support to measure operational improvements and identify process enhancements.

  • Develop and present project documentation including business cases, initiation requests, and milestone reports.

  • Track and report on project KPIs, budgets, and deliverables.

  • Create and implement statistical reports and metrics to measure ongoing process improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Provide timely updates on project status, risks, and issues.

  • Serve as a member of system Project Review Committees and provide guidance on priorities and timelines.


QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of relevant IT Project Management experience.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

  • Advanced database knowledge (SQL preferred).

  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects independently with limited supervision.

Preferred
  • MBA or PMP Certification (or in progress).

  • Experience in retail energy, utilities, or billing systems.

  • Vendor and contract management experience.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements across energy markets.


Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel (5–20%), which may involve overnight stays.
