The Role:
Our Hillsboro, OR site is seeking a Manager, Product Improvement & Quality Systems Engineering to lead a team of 5-7 engineers across Product Improvement Engineering (PIE) and Quality Systems.
This role is accountable for customer quality, product performance, and engineering system execution, with a strong emphasis on program leadership and integration of quality and manufacturing systems (QMS and MES).
What You'll Do:
Own Customer Quality & Product Performance
  • Lead response to customer feedback with clear timelines and accountability
  • Drive containment, root cause analysis, and effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Partner across engineering, quality, and operations to improve product performance at customer use and reduce quality risk

Drive Systems & Workflow Integration
  • Own the improvement and sustainment of quality (QMS) and manufacturing (MES) systems to enable traceability, data visibility, and better decision-making

Lead Programs with Agile Execution Discipline
  • Manage a prioritized engineering backlog of product and system improvements
  • Establish team operating rhythms (planning, sprints, retrospectives) to drive consistent, predictable execution
  • Lead cross-functional programs from concept through implementation

Own Quality Systems & Governance
  • Ensure strong execution of core quality processes (e.g., change control, failure analysis, control plans)
  • Maintain compliance, audit readiness, and on-time completion of critical quality actions

Lead & Develop the Team
  • Coach and develop engineers across PIE and Quality Systems
  • Build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Drive Operational Impact
  • Reduce cycle time, holds, and process inefficiencies
  • Support site growth and capacity expansion
  • Ensure projects deliver measurable business value

What We Seek:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years leading engineering programs or projects in manufacturing
  • Proven people leadership experience
  • Strong program/project management and execution discipline
  • Experience in product improvement, product quality, or quality engineering
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and structured problem-solving methods

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
  • Experience integrating quality systems (QMS) and manufacturing systems (MES)
  • Background in customer quality and issue resolution
  • Experience using backlog-driven or Agile execution models
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Strong data and systems mindset
