Position Summary

The ES Office of Data (ES OOD) is the strategic data foundation for Salesforce's Global Employee Success (ES) Operations - championing trusted employee data, unified governance, HRIS security, and AI-ready data foundations that power seamless, intelligent hire-to-retire experiences.
We are hiring a Senior Manager, HRIS Data Strategy & Security within the ES Office of Data - a critical leadership role responsible for HRIS technology operations, data program strategy, HRIS security, and technical program management across Global ES Operations.

Data Program Strategy, Operations & Advisory

* Serve as the trusted data strategy advisor and SME for critical HRIS data programs - including annual compensation, G4G, M&A data harmonization and promotions
* Lead strategic guidance on data approaches, data dependencies, and execution plans for high-impact ES initiatives
* Define and execute data strategies for large-scale programs ensuring zero-error, on-time delivery for all critical cycles
* Build and maintain strategic data partnerships with ES Product Management, IT/DET, and cross-functional ES COEs
* Drive the technology operations roadmap for Workday and connected ES systems - balancing innovation with operational stability
* Manage and prioritize the HRIS backlog - balancing BAU operational demands with strategic program delivery
* Develop scalable processes, intake models, and governance structures that reflect best-in-class program management practices

HRIS Security, Privacy & Compliance

* Own HRIS security strategy, policies, and governance across Workday and connected systems, including SOX controls management, security intake, and security planner oversight
* Lead a team of HRIS security SMEs (security planners, security admins) ensuring appropriate access controls, provisioning, and de-provisioning are executed with precision
* Champion privacy-by-design principles across all HRIS systems and employee data handling practices
* Partner with audit and compliance teams to maintain and evidence security controls, and lead remediation of any findings

AI First & People Leadership

* Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
* Lead and develop a team of HRIS strategy, security, and program management professionals
* Foster a culture of trust, operational excellence, data literacy, and continuous improvement

Required Skills / Experience

* 8+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, HR technology, data strategy, or related fields - with demonstrated ownership of HRIS systems and data programs at scale
* Deep Workday expertise - including security administration, EIBs, business process configuration, and system governance; additional experience with Workday Prism, Workday Adaptive Planning a plus
* HRIS Security leadership - proven experience designing and managing HRIS security frameworks, access governance, SOX compliance, and audit readiness
* Technical program management - strong track record managing complex, cross-functional technology programs involving multiple stakeholders and systems
* Data strategy acumen - experience leading data strategic planning for large HR programs (compensation, M&A, headcount, promotions) with zero-error execution requirements
* Cross-functional influence - demonstrated ability to partner effectively with IT, product, legal, compliance, and COE teams across a global, matrixed organization
* People leadership - experience leading and developing high-performing teams with a coaching and growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications

* Workday Pro certification (Security, HCM, or equivalent)
* Experience working in an HR Shared Services or HR Operations model
* Familiarity with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to employee data
* Prior experience in a large-scale SaaS technology company environment
