Job description


POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a System Integration Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for the production and support of SiteScan, WebControl, and Ignition software monitoring solutions. This role acts as part of the main production group who deploy and manage all aspects of the software implementation. The role will also provide technical support for internal groups and end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Software Implementation
    • Work directly with customers to provide software installations
    • Manage equipment lists and the gathering of equipment information for assigned projects
    • Work with sales to scope and quote projects
    • Assist with licensing and upgrades
    • Participate in development of departmental procedures/guidelines
  • Software Development
    • Participate in template creation for Vertiv and third-party equipment such as Cooling, Power, Environmental and other equipment common to monitoring.
    • Participate in meetings for new devices to be monitored
    • Manage the template libraries
    • Assist with testing and development for new software releases
    • Track and resolve any field issues related to development
  • Software Support
    • Create and maintain any technical support documentation related to the Environet products
    • Provide Domestic and International Technical Assistance as an escalation contact
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Provide feedback to product management group
    • Attend re-occurring meetings
    • Attend new product and self-development training classes
    • Stay familiar with new products/environments that may affect product operation to include new revisions, updates, upgrades, etc.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS CS - preferred
    • Or similar Computer Science/ degree, or equivalent training and experience in the following areas:
      • Interacting with customers in a technical role
      • Working directly with hardware and/or software systems in data center or other high-availability environments
    • Minimum four years equivalent industry experience in one or more of the following:
      • BMS systems
      • Electronic Monitoring systems
      • Protocols and integration
      • Computer based networks
      • Database Administration
      • Software support
  • Minimum three years-experience interacting with customers in a support role required, technical support experience preferred
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Vertiv Monitoring products and services or similar monitoring systems is required
  • Effective troubleshooting skills and resolution documentation
  • Strong knowledge of PCs and Operating Systems: Windows 10, Server 2016 and current systems
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, especially MS Outlook, Excel and Sharepoint
  • Firm understanding of Data Communications Processes, including:
    • Network devices
      • LANs, WANS
      • VPNs, RDP, WebEx and other remote access tools
  • Firm understanding of key protocols: Modbus, RS232, RS422, RS485, ARCnet, BACnet, Modbus, LON,SNMP and other network protocols.
  • Experience with schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/issues simultaneously
  • Properly interact with all levels in the organization, and with the customer
  • Conscientious, accurate, detail oriented, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
