Job description


Manage the global strategy, development and implementation of the ongoing product roadmap for a product category. Manage the documentation of business requirements and serve as product category expert in the review and implementation of product initiatives. Focus on efforts to drive revenues with new initiatives by identifying maintenance and new development priorities with Global IT, based on overall system impact, potential room-night revenue, and available resources. Evaluate analysis and make proposals for enhancements that will drive increased revenue through Indirect Systems. Define and manage project lifecycles, including planning, development, testing, feedback and system implementation.
Your Day to Day
  • Own and optimize the connectivity model, acting as a subject matter expert on internal and third-party booking channel functionalities, ensuring seamless integration of availability, rates, inventory, and bookings.
  • Drive new product development by defining clear business requirements and coordinating cross-functional teams-including analysts, developers, and subject matter experts-to create best-fit, integrated product solutions.
  • Communicate product information effectively to stakeholders, including roadmaps, specifications, value propositions, and competitive intelligence, while establishing cross-departmental alliances to support product initiatives and reporting to the PMO.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle by continuously evaluating product performance, customer feedback, and market needs to identify enhancement opportunities and new product requirements ahead of obsolescence.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a future-oriented product strategy and roadmap, grounded in an understanding of IHG's business operations, customer insights, market dynamics, competition, and distribution capabilities. This includes identifying and delivering both incremental enhancements and transformative, game-changing functionalities to maintain and advance IHG's competitive position.

What we need from you
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Hotel Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Ideal candidates will have strong experience leading roadmap development in the hospitality or travel industry. A minimum of 2 years leading end-to-end product lifecycles from ideation through development, launch, and post-launch performance evaluation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with global distribution systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), online travel agencies (e.g., Expedia, Booking.com) is preferred. Participation in at least 1 project involving travel industry APIs or data modeling is highly preferred.
  • Experience using API design and testing tools such as Swagger and Postman (or equivalent) and proficiency in interpreting and reviewing XML and JSON message formats.
  • Experience collaborating across both internal and external stakeholder groups with tools such as Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, SmartSheet, or similar products.

Location - Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.
The salary range for this role is $106,000.00 to $110,000.00. This role is also eligible for bonus pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and other benefits to employees.
