Pay Grade:   840 BOND Funded  (Minimum Daily:  $338.35)
Work Days:  226
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This temporary bond contract position collaborates with business/instructional units and other technical staff to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative technology solutions to support the district's enterprise applications, database, and cloud environments. WFH is eligible for Texas residents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. 
  • Certifications in ITILv4, PMP, and Microsoft Development Stack preferred.
Experience:
  • Five years of experience as an Applications Developer supporting in-house and third-party applications.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining innovative and successful technical applications/systems
  • Knowledge and experience using Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge and experience developing in and supporting third-party configurable applications
  • Knowledge and experience with scripting languages and flat file processing concepts
  • Knowledge and experience integrating disparate systems and platforms
  • Knowledge and experience with source control using TFS, Git, or related technology
  • Skill in programming using .NET Framework
  • Skill in web development using ASP.NET, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript
  • Skill in development using C#, SQL, MVC, WPF, Entity Framework, ADO.Net
  • Skill in building/integrating RESTful API/.Net Web Services

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Consult with systems users and key stakeholders to gather requirements and determine functional specifications.
  • Work with external vendors to ensure efficient implementation of applications and software products for systems.
  • Develop, enhance, code, test, debug, document, and implement complex data integration services for business solutions.
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, vendors, and business lines to troubleshoot, test, and plan new API applications and update existing codes as needed.
  • Perform data migration/integration activities, including file data mapping, transformation, and translation.
  • Create tables, triggers, and stored procedures in SQL Server databases.
  • Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of district applications as necessary.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure standardization, performance, and secure solutions.
  • Continuously improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, including diagrams, on all applications development, database systems, integration services, and connectivity.
  • Maintain knowledge of application development technologies, methodologies, and standards. Acquire and effectively apply new technical skills as driven by business need and/or technology advancements.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation and a desire to help others.
  • Establishes and maintains a high level of customer trust and confidence in the team's knowledge of and concern for educational and business needs.

  • Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor
  • Perform special projects, after-hours support and upgrades, and other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions; maintain emotional control under stress.
 
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
  • Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Work with frequent interruptions.
  • Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
