SUMMARY


The Packaging Development Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of creative projects, photography projects, packaging technical spec, costing and production.


KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Manage packaging process and communicates with key stakeholders throughout the development, design, to launch process.
  • Manage and monitor project progress to ensure projects meet scope, timeline, budget and quality goals. Works with overseas factories to establish milestone dates.
  • Prepares critical documentation to begin package development, production, and track progress to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Contact suppliers, customer, and agents/factories to collect and gather all necessary package and product specifications, printing information, limitations, etc.
  • Follow up on pending information from suppliers and / or printers, i.e. missing specification information, cost estimate agreements, feedback on routing of proofs, and invoices, etc.
  • Attending product development meetings with both internal and external teams.
  • Handles the creation and maintenance of packaging technical specification sheets into PLM system. Need to be able to draw or illustrate packaging spec.
  • Communicate in a timely manner the status of each project.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, think quickly and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design practices and processes, preferably for packaging.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate with individuals from many areas and disciplines within the organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and, PowerPoint. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Home Furnishing & Textile Industry a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a packaging design, marketing, project management or business discipline.
  • Expert on packaging material and spec, and able to effectively negotiate and manage packaging cost.
