The Opportunity

We're looking for highly motivated sales professionals who love bothwinning new business and building long-term customer relationships. This is not a traditional Customer Success role, nor is it purely an Account Executive position. Approximately 60% of your focus will be acquiring new customers, while 40% will be dedicated to growing and retaining existing accounts.

You'll own your customer relationships from the very first conversation through onboarding, implementation, expansion, and renewal. Rather than handing customers off after the sale, you'll become their trusted advisor-helping them maximize the value of Portable Electric's products while identifying additional opportunities to grow the partnership.Success in this role means consistently generating new business, delivering an outstanding customer experience, and growing long-term recurring revenue.

What You'll Do

Business Development

  • Prospect and generate new business through outbound calls, email, networking, referrals, channel partners, and industry events.
  • Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using proactive prospecting.
  • Own the full sales cycle from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Develop relationships with executive decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
  • Consistently meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets.
  • Develop strategic account plans for target customers.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and value-based presentations.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM data.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.

Customer Success & Account Growth

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customers after the sale.
  • Lead customer onboarding and ensure successful product adoption.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and customer check-ins.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with customers.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve customer issues quickly.
  • Monitor customer health and proactively address risks before they become problems.
  • Identify expansion, upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities.
  • Drive customer retention and long-term account growth.
  • Gather customer feedback to influence future product improvements.

Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Leadership to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Share customer insights that improve products and sales messaging.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of sales and customer success processes.

What Success Looks Like

You'll be successful when you:

  • Consistently exceed new business revenue targets.
  • Build a predictable pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Increase revenue within existing accounts.
  • Become a trusted advisor to your customers.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting and CRM management.
  • Contribute to Portable Electric's continued growth.

Who You Are

You're equally comfortable opening doors with new customers as you are strengthening relationships with existing ones.

You enjoy the challenge of outbound prospecting but understand that the real value comes from creating customers who stay with you for years.

You are:

  • Competitive and results-driven.
  • Curious and consultative.
  • Highly organized.
  • Comfortable working independently.
  • Confident speaking with executives and technical audiences.
  • Passionate about customer experience.
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-7+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, customer success, or a hybrid hunting/farming role.
  • Demonstrated success generating net-new business through outbound prospecting.
  • Proven experience managing customer relationships and growing existing accounts.
  • Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM platform.
  • Ability to understand technical products and communicate business value.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple departments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling hardware, industrial equipment, batteries, energy storage, EV charging, construction technology, or clean technology.
  • Experience selling leasing, equipment-as-a-service, or subscription solutions.
  • Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Experience selling through dealer, distributor, or channel partners.
  • Familiarity with MEDDICC, Challenger, SPIN Selling, or similar sales methodologies.

Travel

  • Based in Vancouver, BC with regular attendance at our office.
  • Approximately 20-30% travel throughout North America for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: CAD $95,000-$115,000

On-Target Earnings (OTE): CAD $150,000-$180,000 (base salary plus commission)

Additional benefits include:

  • Health Spending Account
  • Three weeks of vacation
  • Hybrid work environment
  • Opportunity to work with industry-leading clean technology
