Job Overview
The EMS Coordinator plays a key leadership role in strengthening emergency medical services across our regional network. This position is responsible for coordinating EMS operations, building and maintaining strong relationships with partner agencies, and supporting strategic initiatives that improve patient care and system performance.
You'll work closely with EMS agencies, fire departments, 911 dispatch centers, air medical services, and community partners across the Deaconess Health System service area. This is a highly collaborative role that blends operations, relationship management, education, and system development.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building strong professional partnerships, and is passionate about advancing EMS care at a regional level. You'll be part of a supportive, mission-driven organization that values innovation, teamwork, and professional growth.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and support operational and strategic EMS initiatives across the service region
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with EMS agencies, fire departments, 911 dispatch centers, air medical services, and community partners
  • Ensure compliance with company policies as well as all applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • Participate in case reviews and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with other service lines to develop and implement EMS-related education and training programs
  • Coordinate EMS activities and responsibilities as part of the Deaconess Hospital role as a Resource/Supervising Hospital for IL, IN, and KY
  • Serve as a key liaison between internal teams and external EMS stakeholders to support system-wide consistency and excellence in care
  • Identify opportunities to improve EMS operations, communication, and regional partnerships

What We're Looking For
Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in Paramedic Science
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an EMT/Paramedic
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field (EMS operations, coordination, or leadership functions)
  • Current Paramedic certification/licensure in the applicable state(s)
  • Valid state driver's license

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • Experience in EMS system coordination, education, or regional operations
