Role Overview:
The Windows Systems Administrator III provides technical leadership and strategic direction for the design, implementation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of enterprise server infrastructure. This role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across Windows-based environments, virtualization platforms (VMware), and SAN storage systems. The administrator evaluates and implements high-impact technologies, balancing long-term cost, performance, and reliability while aligning with organizational standards. This position plays a key role in system design, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination to support mission-critical infrastructure and services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Exchange, file/print services, and user access management.
  • Manage and optimize VMware virtualized environments and SAN storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and efficient resource utilization.
  • Monitor system performance, health, and security across servers and infrastructure; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for Windows servers, Exchange, and SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
  • Support infrastructure projects and daily operations by responding to ITSM tickets, developing automation (e.g., PowerShell), maintaining system documentation, and enforcing security and compliance standards.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and M365.
  • Proven experience managing VMware virtualization platforms and SAN storage systems in enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of network administration/engineering fundamentals (minimum 1+ year experience).
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex infrastructure issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow structured processes, and complete projects effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industry certifications such as MCSE (Core Infrastructure), VMware (VCP), or Storage-related certifications.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation for Windows system administration.
  • Experience with ITSM tools, change management processes, and infrastructure documentation.

Salary range: $80,000 - $115,000
