Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 3 to support mission-critical systems in a dynamic and highly technical environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise Linux-based infrastructure, implementing automation solutions, supporting cloud and security initiatives, and troubleshooting complex system issues. This role requires deep expertise in Red Hat Linux, infrastructure automation, system integration, and security compliance while ensuring reliable and efficient system operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based server environments with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible.
  • Support AWS cloud environments and ensure system performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform vulnerability management activities utilizing Tenable (Nessus) and support remediation efforts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, application, and integration issues.
  • Ensure systems meet required security standards, including compliance with DoD 8570 IAM Level II requirements.
  • Support Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments and understand system interdependencies across integrated platforms.
  • Participate in operational support activities, including shift work and weekend coverage as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 15+ years of System Administrator experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity (or 20 years of SA experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Extensive experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible automation, AWS cloud environments, and Tenable (Nessus) vulnerability management.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification and the ability to resolve complex hardware, software, and systems integration issues.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise environments with high availability requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and system interdependencies.
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in operational environments requiring shift work, weekend support, and collaboration across technical teams.
