Senior Media Operations Manager

Blueprint

Los Angeles, CA

$130/hr

Full-time

Job description

Death is our only foe.

Blueprint was founded by Bryan Johnson, who has the world's best comprehensive biomarkers. He is quantitatively the healthiest person on the planet.

Blueprint is methodically built on science. Bryan freely shares his protocol, learnings and data with everyone to use. Blueprint has also developed a family of nutritional products to make the benefits of the Blueprint protocol affordable and available to all.

We're a small, tight-knit team working to clean up the global food supply, provide healthy food to everyone, and build Don't Die into the most influential ideology in the world. We move quickly, work efficiently, and enjoy an environment defined by competence.

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Media Operations Manager to own and continuously improve Blueprint's end-to-end media infrastructure. We have systems in place today - Frame.io, LucidLink, Box, Synology, Backblaze - but they need a strong, accountable owner to enforce them, tighten the gaps, and evolve them as we grow. This role combines DIT expertise with operational leadership: you'll manage day-to-day ingest, backups, and editorial access while also identifying and driving improvements to the stack over time. We shoot weekly across short-form, long-form, and documentary formats - you'll be on-site for those shoot days (1-2x per week) to handle on-set ingest, card management, and chain-of-custody verification, and own the infrastructure and systems work remotely the rest of the week. This person is the single owner ensuring no footage is ever lost, misplaced, or inaccessible.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  •  Own and enforce day-to-day media operations across our existing tool stack (Frame.io, LucidLink, Box, Synology, Backblaze), ensuring ingest, backup, and access workflows run reliably on every shoot day
  • Evaluate the current system continuously and drive improvements - we're open to replacing tools that aren't working, but changes must be deliberate and loss-free
  • Own end-to-end media ingest on shoot days, including chain-of-custody card offloading, checksum verification, and ensuring footage is editorial-ready by the next business day
  • Build and maintain a proxy-based, browsable b-roll library with clear taxonomy, searchable metadata, and tiered access controls (including restricted tiers for sensitive pre-release content)
  • Enforce and monitor multi-layered backup systems with verifiable proof of integrity - no more "we think it backed up"
  • Manage project-based access permissions for editors, freelancers, and vendors with instant-revoke capability; coordinate with IT on SSO and offboarding
  • Create and maintain SOPs, ingest checklists, and training materials so the system operates without tribal knowledge and is fully handoff-ready

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a DIT or Media Manager on professional video or film productions
  • Hands-on experience managing and maintaining media storage systems (NAS, cloud storage, tiered archiving)
  • Deep understanding of video production workflows from shoot day through editorial handoff
  • Experience enforcing access control and permissions for sensitive media assets
  • Experience managing or coordinating across a team of camera ops, editors, and freelancers - this role sets the standard others follow
  • Track record of building operational documentation and enforcing process with a team

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with tools in our current stack: Frame.io, LucidLink, Box, Synology, Backblaze
  • Experience with proxy generation and proxy-first remote editorial workflows (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere)
  • Experience migrating or consolidating large media libraries (30TB+)
  • Comfort with scripting or automation for media workflows (checksums, watch folders, ingest scripts)
  • Experience handling security-sensitive content with audit logging and confidentiality controls

Benefits

Salary Range: $130-160k + equity + benefits
