To support this challenge, Syngenta's Commercial team is currently seeking a Herbicide Product Marketing Lead in Greensboro, NC.

As the Herbicide Product Marketing Lead, you will develop strategies and provide leadership to maximize the lifetime profitability of products within the Syngenta Herbicide portfolio. You will ensure all US Business Units receive strong brands that are well-designed, properly positioned and efficiently supplied for incorporation into customer offers. Additionally, you will develop launch plans and go to market strategies for new products and formulations entering the portfolio in the near future.

Accountabilities: 

  • Develop product and portfolio strategies for assigned active ingredients and/or markets from development or acquisition through post-patent status and exit/phase-out
  • Lead development of assigned 5-year Product Plans defining portfolio evolution, product launches, product positioning, marketing and go-to-market direction, pricing strategy, range management and short- and mid-term guidance to Commercial Units and Support Functions
  • Lead assigned North America Product Strategy Teams (PSTs) ensuring buy-in and full support from all functional groups to drive implementation of 5-year plans
  • Ownership of the brand pricing strategies; provide guidance on discount use and programs; ensure pricing consistency across Commercial Units
  • Develop in-season marketing tactics to manage sales and profitability of assigned brands and collaborate with Commercial Units on getting buy-in, approval and implementation
  • Create and maintain strong brands and brand awareness by providing clear product positioning, directing advertising & promotion and maintaining brand consistency across Commercial Units, markets and offers
  • In collaboration with Technical Product Leads, define product development plans and priorities and work with Development Functions and Global Marketing to secure prioritization, resourcing and timely delivery of development efforts
  • Develop, manage and implement post patent strategy and actions including monitoring of generic activity and collaboration with Global Assets
Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing and/or sales experience (Agricultural industry or similar field preferred)
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship support from Syngenta

Desired:

  • Experience influencing direct and indirect cross functional relationships, including those on a global level
  • Demonstrated successful track record in people, process and project management
  • Possession of deep and broad crop and product knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles - positioning, market & financial analysis, communications
  • Experience effectively utilizing segmentation to drive marketing priorities
  • Understanding of market dynamics and competitive environment
  • Strong customer focus
  • Solid analytical thinking ability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
