Job description

West Monroe is seeking a Manager to join our growing Merger & Carveout Services (MCS) team. We help private equity and corporate clients navigate some of their most complex and transformative moments-from evaluating a deal to separating, integrating, and building the business for what comes next.

As a Manager, you will lead teams across the transaction lifecycle, working at the intersection of business and technology to solve complex challenges, shape critical decisions, and turn transaction plans into results. You'll work alongside senior client leaders and West Monroe experts across industries and functions, gaining exposure to high-impact transactions while helping grow our M&A practice.

What You Will Do

Client Delivery

  • Lead buy-side and sell-side merger, integration, and carveout engagements for private equity and corporate clients across industries.
  • Manage all elements of engagements, including scope, budgets, staffing, workstreams, deliverables, profitability, risks, quality, and executive reporting.
  • Lead cross-functional diligence, planning, and execution across areas such as IT, Finance & Accounting, HR, Procurement, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and organizational design.
  • Develop and oversee standalone run-rate and one-time cost models, synergy and dis-synergy analyses, TSA strategies, operating models, and Day 1 readiness plans that inform transaction decisions and value creation.
  • Translate complex financial, operational, and technology findings into actionable recommendations aligned with the client's investment thesis.
  • Leverage West Monroe's Intellio assets, analytics, and M&A methodologies to strengthen governance, collaboration, reporting, and value realization.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.

Business Development

  • Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to expand West Monroe's impact within engagements and accounts.
  • Contribute M&A expertise to pursuits and lead components of proposals, solution development, scoping, and pricing.
  • Collaborate across West Monroe's industry, functional, and technology teams to shape solutions for complex transaction needs.

Practice Development

  • Develop and improve MCS methodologies, tools, templates, and accelerators that increase delivery quality and efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor team members, provide actionable feedback, and contribute to recruiting and talent development.
  • Share transaction expertise and lessons learned to strengthen M&A capabilities and build the next generation of leaders.

What You Will Bring

  • 5-7 years of management consulting, transaction advisory, technology consulting, or related experience, including experience with mergers, integrations, carveouts, or divestitures.
  • Experience managing client engagements or complex workstreams, including scope, financials, teams, risks, quality, and senior stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience across the M&A lifecycle, including diligence, separation or integration planning, TSA analysis, standalone cost modeling, synergy analysis, Day 1 readiness, or post-close execution.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect operational and technology considerations to deal value and the investment thesis.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and translating complex analysis into clear, executive-ready recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Ability to travel 25 to 50%.
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity, and openness to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
