Job description

You have a strong and extensive, broad understanding of syndicated loans with a minimum of 7 years of Syndicated Loan experience. You also have extensive knowledge of the Loan product / Syndicated Loan business, including a strong understanding of a credit agreement, loan funding mechanics, deal structure, ticking fees, and funds flows. This is the team for you.

As a Vice President - Syndicated Loan Transaction Coordinator within the Lending Services team at JPMorganChase, you will be responsible for coordinating complex syndicated and bi-lateral loans and letter of credit transactions for the Corporate Investment and Commercial Banks. You will work closely with the JPMorganChase Origination Businesses, ensuring all required documents, reference data, and critical information are reviewed for operational feasibility, optimal execution mechanics, regulatory requirements and mitigation of operational risk. You will partner with various internal and external parties including, but not limited to, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Loan and Agency Services, Product Control, Legal, Trade Settlements, as well as JPMorganChase Borrowers and Lender Clients.  The team also interacts with their international counterparts in Europe and Asia Pacific on cross-border deals originating out of North America.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a pipeline of highly complex Global Bank transactions. 

  • Strong and extensive understanding of syndicated loans, and the overall industry in order to effectively assist deal team members, acting as the single point of escalation during the loan closing process.
  • Review and negotiate legal loan documentation for operational feasibility with external counsel. Acting as the first line of defense for JPMorgan Operations. 
  • Act as a single point of contact for all JPMorganChase parties involved in the loan closing from an operational perspective. 
  • Coordinate and review internal closing documentation with Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Loan and Agency Services, Product Control, Legal, Trade Settlements, as well as Borrowers and Lenders.
  • Discuss and advise funding mechanics and operational requirements as it pertains to internal booking locations, regional, and currency policies with downstream operations teams. 
  • Initiate trade settlement process and coordination with trade settlement teams for Institutional Term Loan transactions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on all things related to loan closings for junior staff members and front office analyst and associates and identify/address control gaps by engaging global partners. Propose solutions to improve loan closing process at a global scale.
  • Represent Transaction Coordination and provide valuable input with various working groups created to enhance performance and efficiency and interact and coordinate with international counterparts on cross-border deals originating out of North America.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Undergraduate degree plus a minimum of 7 years of Syndicated Loan experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Loan product / Syndicated Loan business, including a strong understanding of a credit agreement, loan funding mechanics, deal structure, ticking fees, funds flows, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial services, specifically within Investment Banking.
  • Prior experience working with clients to collect and review syndicated loan documentation ahead of closing large syndicated structures.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members and senior management across and within the lines of business with a keen attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly.
  • Critical decision-making abilities including the ability to identify, escalate, and propose solutions to problems.
