PRIVATE CREDIT GROUP

Bain Capital Credit's Private Credit Group evaluates investment opportunities across the spectrum in the middle market, or typically companies with $10-150M of EBITDA located in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. With a dedicated global team of over 40 investment professionals, we can lead investments across the capital structure in senior secured first lien, second lien and unitranche loans, subordinated debt, and preferred or common equity co-investments. Our dedicated global team affords us the ability to diligence the most complex situations and provides private capital to those companies.

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT TEAM

The Portfolio Management Team works directly with senior management on group strategy and fund positioning, with a focus on asset allocation, return optimization, risk management, liability management and fund analysis. The Private Credit Group has $21 billion AUM today across two business development companies, Bain Capital Specialty Finance, Inc. (NYSE: BCSF) and Bain Capital Private Credit (BCPC), the flagship Global Direct Lending and Middle Market Credit Partners funds, as well as several other separately managed accounts, Private Credit CLOs and structured fund products. We are looking to hire an Associate.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Analyze current portfolio positioning and capitalization across funds and managed accounts in the firm's Private Credit strategies

  • Support in evaluating, structuring, and executing on funds, structured funds (rated notes, collateralized fund obligations), financing structures (SPVs, CLOs) and other structured products

  • Contribute to the assessment and execution of strategic growth planning initiatives within the Private Credit Group

  • Build and maintain complex financial models of the Private Credit Group's funds and managed accounts

  • Generate the analytical framework used by the portfolio management team, investors, and other related parties

  • Conduct a wide range of research and analysis for use in portfolio management, investor requests and internal analytics

  • Communicate with senior management and investors on current portfolio construction and return information

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated track record of professional high performance

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with a strong preference for prior credit market experience including leveraged lending, private credit or structured credit experience

  • Excellent communication skills; able to synthesize complicated analyses concisely and articulate conclusions in a compelling manner. Open to spirited debate over ideas.

  • Strong financial statement analysis and modeling abilities. Strong understanding of public and private capital markets, corporate securities and capital structures

  • High agility and an ability to multi-task and work across the organization on a wide range of workstreams and deliverables.

  • Experience with middle market direct lending, or CLO or other structured / financing products is a plus

Compensation:
Expected Annual Base Salary $140,000-150,000
Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
