What are SWS?

SWS stands for Social Welfare Services, which are professionals who provide support and assistance to individuals and families in need. Their primary goal is to improve social functioning and quality of life by connecting clients with resources, offering counseling, and advocating for their rights. SWS workers often collaborate with government agencies, non-profits, and community organizations to address issues such as poverty, abuse, and mental health challenges. They play a crucial role in ensuring vulnerable populations receive the help and support they need.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in Software Solutions (SWS) roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Software Solutions (SWS) roles often encounter challenges such as rapidly changing client requirements, integrating new technologies with legacy systems, and managing cross-functional teams. Staying adaptable and proactive in learning helps address shifting demands, while clear communication with stakeholders ensures everyone is aligned on project goals. Collaborating closely with developers, project managers, and clients can streamline problem-solving and lead to more successful software implementations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Social Worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Social Worker, you need a solid understanding of social work principles, case management, and typically a bachelor's or master's degree in social work (BSW/MSW) with appropriate state licensure. Familiarity with case management software, documentation systems, and knowledge of local community resources are important technical tools. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, active listening, and resilience help you build trust and advocate for clients effectively. These skills and qualities are essential for providing meaningful support, navigating complex situations, and making a positive impact on individuals and communities.

Job description

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry. We are one of the worldโ€™s largest producers of hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, with among the lowest Upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramcoโ€™s value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generationsโ€™ spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdomโ€™s vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Sour Water Stripper (SWS) processes to join our Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD).

OESD's technical team is responsible for providing high-quality, multi-disciplinary support to Global Manufacturing operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally.

Your primary role is to provide in-depth process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for refineries' SRU & SWS, including remote and on-site technical advisory support, benchmarking, and technology knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Conduct regular performance reviews of existing SRU & SWS facilities and analyze KPIs related to operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
  • Develop and present quarterly benchmarking reports with actionable improvement recommendations.
  • Provide hands-on support in implementing performance improvement initiatives, demonstrating measurable results in closing identified gaps.
  • Lead benchmarking and best practices exchange workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities, facilitating knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and distribute bi-monthly SRU & SWS technical best practices bulletins, ensuring knowledge dissemination across Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Deliver on-demand remote and field technical advisory support, including troubleshooting, start-up/shutdown activities, capacity test runs, and technology pilot testing and provide detailed service reports for each support activity.
  • Collaborate with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers to identify and implement cost optimization and process improvement initiatives, focusing on "low-hanging fruits" that require minimal capital investment.
  • Conduct internal assessments of SRU & SWS process engineering standards, ensuring alignment with Saudi Aramco engineering standards and supporting their implementation across Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in Business Plan development, coordinating with stakeholders on capital investments for SRU & SWS units and supporting techno-economic evaluations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new SRU & SWS technologies and coordinate with relevant departments for assessment and piloting support.
  • Actively participate in external benchmarking activities with industry bodies such as Japan Cooperation Council Petroleum (JCCP) and Gulf Downstream Association (GDA).
Minimum Requirements
  • You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of total refinery or gas plants process units experience, with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in handling SRUs/TGTU/SWS plants.
  • You will be able to optimize SRU & SWS operations, with specific examples of performance improvements achieved.
  • You will have in-depth knowledge of SRU/TGTU process licensor technologies.
  • You will have a proven track record of conducting technical troubleshooting, start-up, shutdown, and capacity test runs for SRU & SWS units.
  • You will have strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools specific to SRU & SWS performance metrics.
  • You will have strong management and coordination skills, with experience in stakeholder management
  • You will also have excellent computer and presentation skills.
