Position Purpose:
We are seeking great Freelance Vectorworks Draftspersons (U.S. Based) for upcoming project work .
This application is not for full-time employment.
The Vectorworks Draftsperson is responsible for the creation and maintenance of drawings for the project under the guidance of a Technical Director / Technical Producer or Project Lead. This position requires someone with experience in 2D/3D drafting for live entertainment productions. Will be creating 2D/3D representations in Vectorworks and populating it with show elements.
Responsibilities:
  • Modeling major show concepts/elements from the groundplan into 3D representations for the purpose of conveying design intent and form/scale to the client.
  • Creating and maintaining the 2D groundplan throughout the entire project (including onsite tracking of changes and creation of "as-built" plans)
  • Drafting of site plans, ground plans, and other required layouts/details.
  • 2D/3D drafting of individual scenic elements for fabrication.
  • Possible meetings and site surveys with the client and internal and external collaborators.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of live event, entertainment, theater, touring concert and/or production experience in drafting
  • Strong drafting skills. All drafting will be done in Vectorworks
  • Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Ideal candidate would have past experience as a draftsperson on large scale, "mega events" in professional sports, live entertainment, festivals, or similar
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
  • Ensure that all work conforms to pre-established specifications & standards of TAIT.
  • Take initiative, multi-task, and work positively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work with discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, and tact in high-pressure settings.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency & act responsively.
  • Work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Supremely organized, detail-oriented, and thorough.
