Apple is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to the development of the next generation of cloud services infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing and implementing key components of the iCloud platform, integrating novel fundamental capabilities deeply into the core of Apple’s operating systems.
Your work will enable the creation of entirely new applications and the scaling of existing ones, including iCloud Drive, Photos, Notes, FaceTime, and many more. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact. You will collaborate with highly skilled teams dedicated to engineering excellence and deliver features that uphold strong privacy guarantees for end users.
Description
Our team is responsible for building the on-device software that makes iCloud work. This role is focused on Private Cloud Compute, Apple’s platform for running workloads that gives users enforceable guarantees about the privacy and security of their data. This system underlies many Apple Intelligence features. We need an engineer to design and build the frameworks and daemons that support Private Cloud Compute; to work closely with other engineering teams around the company who are adopting this technology, and with our colleagues who build dependencies on the client and the server.
A strong candidate will have engineering experience and interest on the Apple platforms, so that they are prepared to approach problems such as protocol design, interprocess communication, device resource management, API design, reliability and performance. And since so much of the user experience we build depends on services, we are also looking for engineers who are passionate about building complex distributed systems.","responsibilities":"Work with adopters to craft flexible and ergonomic APIs

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $142,300 and $214,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
