Schowalter Villa is looking for a full-time Housekeeper to join our team!
Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is to clean and dust resident rooms, bathrooms, and other assigned areas. The Housekeeper will use designated chemicals and cleaning solutions when necessary to prevent the transmission of infections. The Housekeeper will sweep, dust, mop and vacuum.

Essential Job Functions:

Keep assigned area neat, and clutter-free

  • Clean and dust residents’ rooms, bathrooms, hallways, whirlpool, and other assigned areas.
  • Empty trash cans and replaces liners
  • Assist in cleaning tables and chairs in the dining area

Deep-Clean in assigned areas, using specified chemicals and cleaning solutions

  • Wash furnishings, floors, and equipment with designated cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • Scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment on a daily basis
  • Clean windows and walls at least once a month, and more often as necessary
  • Turn mattresses as needed, requesting help when necessary

Sweep, mop, and vacuum in assigned areas on a daily basis

  • Move furniture and other equipment at least once a week, requesting help as necessary

Uses housekeeping and floor care equipment appropriately

  • Use dust cloths, vacuum cleaners, wet mops, dry mops and other floor care equipment
  • Notice when repairs are needed and completes maintenance request form

Maintain work-area and supplies in an organized manner.

  • Replace cleaning and paper supplies, and hand soaps, and other supplies as needed.
  • Keep work area neat

Wash and dry residents’ laundry (KBV AL only)

  • Collect and sort resident’s laundry according to fabric type and desired water temperature
  • Wash resident’s laundry, pre-treating, spot-cleaning, or soaking clothing when necessary
  • Fold or hang laundry and return to the appropriate place

Weekends and Holidays

  • Will be scheduled to work some weekends and holidays

Other Duties

  • Be cross trained in various housekeeping departments

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age
  • Prefer prior experience in institutional cleaning

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
