Job Title: OWA Senior Manager - AI SWAT Team Leader

Report to: Data Horizontal Lead
Oliver Wyman is seeking exceptionally qualified candidates for a Senior Manager position in our Actuarial practice providing a strong mix of strategic and tactical support to the OWA AI Program. The primary responsibilities are to support the OWA AI SWAT Team, Sponsors and Operations Leadership Team to advance strategic actuarial AI initiatives and execute various projects, including weekly reporting, strategic communications, presentations, and other efforts. Additionally, this role involves leading multiple agile workstreams.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Contribute productively to a cohesive executive team to serve our firm, our people, and our clients as we drive the business forward to achieve the vision.
  • Under the direction of the sponsors, oversee strategic business program and initiatives from ideation to implementation. This includes:
    • Owning (and first, creating) a strategic product roadmap that will (a) align with our guiding principles, (b) be regularly reviewed / challenged / vetted by the our steering committee, and (c) be achievable.
    • Actively managing the backlog: on a sprint-by-sprint basis, we will agree on sprint objectives, and will have a backlog of items to work towards.
    • Having a line of sight into various pods/initiatives and help troubleshoot and/or elevate risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities
    • Working tightly with initiative leadership and be a strong link between steering committee requests and what the team is doing / needs
    • Preparing for updates and sprint reviews working closely with dedicated SWAT team
    • Preparing weekly updates for Steering Committee and sponsors
  • Work collaboratively with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies.
  • Recommend and advise leaders on courses of action to address myriad topics and issues facing the business.
  • Identify meeting outcomes needed to advance initiatives and craft agendas and facilitate discussions and actions to achieve them.
  • Work with leadership to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress toward goals.
  • Identify, plan, manage, and execute needed communications
  • Identify and help to solve problems and/or capitalize on opportunities.
  • Provide senior leaders with insight and analysis on various initiatives and efforts.
  • Assess risk in decision-making efforts.
  • Provide support and oversight for special projects and initiative.

Experience Required
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or actuarial credentials recognized by clients and relevant industry bodies.
  • 10+ years of experience working at the C-suite or senior level in a similar role.

  • Proven record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments.
  • Experience managing complex projects from ideation to completion.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing, tight deadlines.
  • Experience handling highly confidential, sensitive, and business-critical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $175K-200K.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, exams, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives
