Job description

Job Title: Industrial Sr Engineer
Department: Supply Chain Operations
Reports To: Director Site Head
Summary:
The Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing operational efficiency and productivity across multiple distribution facilities. This involves analyzing existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, implementing best practices, and providing technical expertise to drive cost reductions, improve quality, and enhance overall performance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, experience working in a multi-site environment, and excellent project management skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Performance Analysis: Conduct detailed analyses of processes, material flow, and resource utilization across assigned sites. Identify bottlenecks, constraints, and areas for improvement in terms of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
* Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other relevant techniques. Lead kaizen events and workshops to engage site teams in problem-solving and process optimization.
* Project Management: Manage multiple projects concurrently, from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet defined objectives. This includes developing project plans, tracking progress, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
* Standardization: Identify opportunities for standardization across multiple sites and develop standardized work instructions, procedures, and best practices. Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice implementation across the network.
* Facility Layout and Design: Contribute to the design and optimization of facility layouts to improve material flow, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency. This may involve working with CAD software/Simulation software and collaborating with other engineers in the network.
* Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Coordinate a standardize approach for PDCA and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor progress.
* Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, waste elimination, and improved resource utilization. Develop cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including distribution, quality, supply chain, and engineering, to ensure alignment and effective implementation of improvement initiatives.
* Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to site personnel on industrial engineering principles, lean techniques, and other relevant topics.
* Travel: Regular travel (minimum 33%) to assigned distribution sites will be required in addition to SWAT support as identified. Multi-day/Multi-week will be a requirement.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a Supply chain related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, with at desire of 2 years in a multi-site environment or ownership of major Project Management.
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
* Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, including process mapping, time study, motion study, value stream mapping, and statistical process control.
* Proven experience in leading and implementing process improvement initiatives.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
* Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
