Position Summary:
Villanova University invites applications for adjunct teaching positions in Swahili language for undergraduate courses only. The specific courses involved are beginner Swahili and the expectation to grow to higher levels of the language. The applicant must be committed to excellence in the teaching of Swahili language.
Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. The University is an equal opportunity employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect and can contribute to the University's mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach Swahili language through lectures and drills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree and proficiency in Swahili or a closely related discipline is required and/or experience suitable for course instruction.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in teaching Swahili preferred.
Record of excellence in teaching.

The Global Interdisciplinary Studies Department will accept applications throughout the year. When a teaching vacancy arises, we will consider the submitted applications in an effort to staff the course. However, this is a new language program in our Department which we hope to build to advanced levels of proficiency. Excellence in teaching and sustained student interest will ensure continued offering of the course(s).

This adjunct position falls within the salary range of $1,160.00 - $2,230.00 per credit/contact hour. The final compensation will be determined with consideration of several factors including the selected candidate's educational qualifications, course type (drill, lab, lecture), course level (undergraduate or graduate), and market benchmarks.
