Job description

The Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer (SVP & CTO) provides executive leadership for the credit union's enterprise technology strategy, architecture, infrastructure, application delivery, and technology operations. This role ensures technology investments align with the credit union's strategic objectives by accelerating organizational growth, enhancing member and employee experiences, strengthening operational resilience, and fostering innovation through secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes the enterprise technology strategy to align with the credit union's strategic objectives, drive digital transformation, and leverage emerging technologies to improve member experience, operational efficiency, and competitive positioning. Leads technology innovation, architecture, modernization, and investment planning while ensuring technology remains scalable, resilient, and future-ready.
  • Provides executive oversight of enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, networks, applications, end-user computing, and technology operations to ensure highly available, secure, and reliable technology services. Establish performance standards, service level expectations, and operational excellence practices that maximize system availability and business continuity.
  • Establishes and maintain enterprise technology governance, architecture standards, disaster recovery, business continuity, operational resilience, and technology risk management practices. Ensure technology decisions align with regulatory expectations, cybersecurity requirements, vendor risk standards, and organizational risk appetite while supporting audit and compliance activities.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing technology organization by developing leadership talent, fostering innovation, promoting accountability, and creating a culture of continuous improvement. Partners with executive leadership and business units to align technology priorities, manage organizational change, and ensure technology capabilities support enterprise growth.
  • Develops and manages the technology portfolio, capital investments, operating budgets, and strategic vendor relationships to maximize business value and return on investment. Leads technology sourcing, contract negotiations, and partnership strategies while optimizing technology spend, improving service delivery, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience leading enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation, infrastructure, application delivery, cloud technologies, and technology operations within a complex, highly regulated organization is required.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior role overseeing IT strategy and operations is required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience building high-performing teams, establishing technology governance, managing enterprise technology risk, vendor relationships, operational resilience, and business continuity while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and cybersecurity expectations is required.

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required is required.
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology Management, or a related discipline preferred is preferred.
  • Certification/License Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CGEIT, CISM, or CISSP is preferred.

  • Ability to translate enterprise business strategy into technology roadmaps, capabilities, and scalable solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence executive leadership, business partners, vendors, and Board members to advance strategic technology initiatives.
  • Ability to lead enterprise technology transformation by evaluating emerging technologies and driving innovation that enhances operational efficiency, member experience, and organizational growth.
  • Ability to establish and oversee enterprise technology governance, architecture, operational resilience, and technology risk management to support secure, reliable, and compliant technology services.
  • Ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing technology teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
