Sutter Psychotherapy Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic clinical team. This position is primarily remote but allows for virtual engagement with an option for in-person visits at our outpatient office in Paterson, New Jersey, facilitating comprehensive care for our clients. As an LMFT, you will play a vital role in enhancing mental health outcomes for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments for individuals, couples, and families to understand their unique situations and therapeutic needs.
• Facilitating therapy sessions for couples, as well as providing individual therapy tailored to each client's needs.
• Employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address various concerns, including but not limited to:
• Alcohol abuse and dependency
• Psychological and physical abuse recovery
• Grief and loss issues
• Familial conflicts, including sibling rivalry and estrangement
• Job-related stress
• Medical issues affecting mental health
• Challenges presented by blended families and remarriage
• Adjustment and coping strategies during separation and divorce
• Communication difficulties between family members
• Working collaboratively with other healthcare providers and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
• Maintaining accurate client records and documentation to reflect treatment progress and outcomes.

Your expertise will directly benefit a diverse client population, including adults and children/adolescents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties. Our clients come from various backgrounds, presenting a unique tapestry of challenges ranging from relationship issues to severe mental health concerns.

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.
• An active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is essential.
• Strong clinical skills, including the ability to build rapport with clients and facilitate meaningful therapeutic conversations.

• Previous experience working in a clinical setting focused on family and couples therapy.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and best practices in remote therapy.
• Flexibility to manage a caseload of 30+ hours per week while adjusting to the unique needs of clients.
• Recent licensing and seasoned professionals are both encouraged to apply.
