Key Responsibilities

Sustainable Procurement Leadership

  • Serve as an embedded strategic partner within Procurement to influence sustainable purchasing decisions at scale across priority categories, suppliers, and regions
  • Integrate environmental and social risk considerations alongside cost, business risk, and strategic fit into category strategies, sourcing decisions, and award recommendations
  • Lead RFP/RFI sustainability evaluations, award recommendations, and final contract negotiations within assigned categories, ensuring alignment across sustainability, commercial, legal, and quality requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sustainable procurement inquiries from external stakeholders, including customers, auditors, rating agencies, and partners, providing accurate and high-quality responses to questionnaires, RFPs, RFIs, audits, and assessments
  • Partner with Finance and Sustainability teams to track major future expenditures, quantify carbon implications, and identify procurement levers that advance PCI's decarbonization goals and inform budgeting and capital planning
  • Facilitate regular global ESG and sustainable procurement forums to ensure alignment on targets, initiatives, timelines, and performance expectations
  • Develop and deploy global procurement policies, toolkits, governance frameworks, and training programs to embed ESG principles and risk management into sourcing strategies, procurement processes, and supplier lifecycle management

Scope 3 Emissions Management

  • Lead the global measurement, management, and reporting of PCI's Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable global regulatory requirements and reporting frameworks
  • Streamline and enhance Scope 3 data collection processes by expanding the use of primary activity data and supplier-specific emissions data, improving transparency, data quality, coverage, and automation
  • Collaborate closely with Finance teams to enhance data visibility, purchasing documentation, and controls to support more accurate Scope 3 accounting and audit readiness
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement high-impact emissions reduction initiatives and supplier roadmaps in support of PCI's short- and long-term Scope 3 targets
  • Support life cycle assessments, sustainable materials selection, and packaging optimization initiatives, ensuring compliance with emerging regulatory requirements including EU and California packaging regulations

Supplier Engagement & Risk Management

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with priority suppliers to drive value-added collaboration, aligning supplier capabilities with PCI's sustainability goals, customer expectations, and the evolving global regulatory landscape
  • Assess supplier sustainability performance and analyze trends to identify risks and opportunities, developing targeted processes, workshops, training, and resource hubs to improve supplier performance and reduce supply chain risk
  • Manage priority suppliers through external sustainability and risk platforms to enhance insights, collaboration, transparency, and Scope 3 decarbonization, including tools such as Proof, EcoVadis, CDP, SBTi, Supplier.io, and similar systems
  • Conduct ESG-focused supplier assessments to proactively identify risks related to environmental performance, human rights, ethics, and due diligence requirements, and drive remediation and continuous improvement plans
  • Design and lead supplier communication, engagement, and training programs that establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and unlock high-impact emissions reduction and innovation opportunities
  • Support the onboarding of new suppliers and initiatives by embedding sustainability requirements, scorecards, contractual provisions, and reporting expectations into standard procurement processes and supplier selection criteria
  • Lead the collection, consolidation, and validation of procurement-related sustainability data for annual reports, customer requests, ratings, questionnaires, ad hoc disclosures, and external assessments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Deep understanding of sustainable procurement, supply chain sustainability, and Scope 3 emissions management
  • Strong knowledge of global ESG reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging compliance expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence sourcing decisions and supplier behavior in complex, matrixed global organizations
  • Excellent analytical, data management, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, customers, and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and execution discipline
  • High degree of collaboration, adaptability, and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Supply Chain, Business, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., sustainability, supply chain, ESG) preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, sustainability, supply chain, or related roles, including leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier engagement, ESG, or decarbonization initiatives in a global environment
  • Strong familiarity with Scope 3 emissions accounting methodologies and supplier data platforms
  • Experience operating in heavily regulated industries and managing external audits, customer inquiries, and ratings
  • Commitment to the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct
