Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Surveyor (non-licensed) to join our team in our Indianapolis Headquarters.

This position will involve performing a variety of surveying tasks, including topographic surveys, easement work, and structural measure downs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the field, a strong understanding of surveying techniques, and a dedication to ensuring high-quality results. As a Project Surveyor, you will work closely with licensed surveyors and project managers to collect and analyze data, ensuring accurate and timely completion of surveying projects.

This position is Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day. This position is salary exempt; however, we offer overtime paid as straight time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and perform topo surveys to gather elevation and boundary data for development projects.
  • Assist with easement work alongside the Survey Manager including identifying and documenting property boundaries and rights-of-way.
  • Perform structural measure downs and provide detailed measurements and documentation for various structures (manholes, inlets, etc.).
  • Prepare field notes, data, and photos for review by licensed surveyors and project teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to support project requirements.
  • Assist in supporting other offices with surveys.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of field experience operating and performing surveys
  • High School Diploma – some college courses preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in the field alone or as a team
  • Someone that can be counted on and trusted to perform work as a representative of Commonwealth
  • Able to travel and stay overnight. Travel expenses and per diem are provided
