The Role


Stratus recently partnered with Stewart and is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Geomatics, who is responsible for planning, conducting, and directing work of one or more projects as well as preparing proposals and managing project schedules within an office setting. This role provides leadership to project teams, oversees financial and technical performance, and serves as a trusted advisor to clients. The Senior Project Manager also mentors junior project managers, contributes to market strategies, and ensures projects align with the firm’s technical and business standards.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare proposals, including negotiations with clients
  • Meet project schedules, milestones, budgets, targets, and quality of work goals, as well as for assigning and directing efforts of staff (field crews and technicians)
  • Prepare or direct preparation of client deliverables, ensuring the QA/QC process has been completed prior to the deliverable going to the next level
  • Oversee the preparation of maps and plats, legal descriptions, and all other deliverables while directing field work and associated quality reviews throughout the project delivery process
  • Work directly with the client to ensure scope and deadlines are met
  • Prepare clear project task documentation when needed
  • Perform survey research, be able to read and write legal descriptions
  • Perform the following surveys, including but not limited to Topographical Surveys, Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, and Construction Surveys
  • Remain actively engaged in professional development by completing coursework, training, or professional certifications

Qualifications


Required

  • 10 years of surveying fieldwork experience
  • 8 years of surveying-related CAD experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D Version 2018
  • Advanced knowledge of software used in surveying, examples include but are not limited to AutoCAD, Microstation, GIS
  • Advanced skills in the operation of Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Station, to include Trimble Field Software
  • Three years of experience dealing directly with clients and managing projects
  • Fundamentals of Survey (FS) with the ability to obtain the North Carolina Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS) within 1 year
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a driving record check

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Discipline Preferred
  • Intermediate LiDAR feature extraction skills
  • Advanced MicroStation skills.
