Job description

Job Title: Survey CAD TechnicianPosition Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Survey CAD Technician to support land surveying projects by converting field survey data into accurate electronic drawings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Carlson Survey software and a solid understanding of surveying principles, boundary analysis, and topographic mapping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate CAD drawings from field survey data using Carlson Survey software.

  • Compile, review, and process survey information into clear, precise, and production-ready drawings.

  • Create sketches and legal descriptions for land parcels and easements.

  • Draft and process topographic, boundary, bathymetric, and construction stakeout surveys.

  • Generate and maintain 3D terrain surfaces from survey data.

  • Perform survey computations, including traverses, boundary calculations, horizontal control, record plats, and construction stakeout data.

  • Ensure all drawings meet quality standards, project specifications, and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with surveyors and project teams to resolve drafting and survey-related issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Carlson Survey software (required).

  • Strong understanding of land surveying principles, methods, and industry standards.

  • Experience preparing:

    • Topographic surveys

    • Boundary surveys

    • Bathymetric surveys

    • Construction stakeout drawings

    • 3D surface models

  • Ability to perform survey calculations, traverses, and boundary computations.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
