Job description

Job Title:

Video Surveillance Engineer

Reports to:

Construction and Infrastructure Manager

Location:

Sacramento, CA

Days / Hours of Work

As needed, Typically M-F 8am to 5pm PST

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Engaging with customers and survey potential job sites, taking detailed notes about customer's needs.
  • Design complete turn-key access control and surveillance solutions for customers based upon customer's criteria and the estimation process during job walks stemming from professional experience utilizing those systems.
  • Source product and write detailed proposals, including scope of work, labor estimations and bill of materials.
  • Oversee field installation of awarded projects and configure all product prior to commissioning of the system.
  • Provide system demonstrations as well as onsite training to customers.
  • Assist with investigations of recorded video for customers upon request.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed systems either remotely or on-site.
  • Furnish as-built drawings of system designs using either AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio upon customer request.
  • Act as a resource to assist with troubleshooting customer equipment, not exclusively related to surveillance.

Essential Functions:

  • Extensive surveillance and access control system design experience
  • Basic low-voltage wiring experience acquired while employed by Quest Media and Supplies.
  • Broad knowledge of various computer software and hardware capabilities encompassing every aspect of Microsoft Operating Systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 and 2012 Server Editions.
  • Expert Knowledge of digital/analog CCTV equipment Milestone or OnSSI.
  • Experience with a broad range of IP Surveillance cameras including Axis, Arecont, Avigilon and others
  • The incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as apparent or assigned
  • May be required to work off-hours, weekend & holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal schedule when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Milestone Systems or OnSSI Advanced Certification
  • Axis Network Video Certification
  • S2 Systems Certification
  • Cisco IP Video Surveillance Systems Certification

Working Conditions / Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Required to work in an office environment with moderate noise and moderate temperatures.
  • Incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as required.
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Position may require Travel to customer and Quest locations.

  • Full time
  • Pay range is $2,900 - $4,500 per pay period. Quest recognizes 24 pay periods per calendar year
