A Surrogacy Case Manager oversees the entire surrogacy journey, serving as the primary point of contact for intended parents and surrogate candidates. Responsibilities typically include coordinating medical appointments, assisting with legal and documentation processes, facilitating communication between all involved parties, and providing ongoing support throughout pregnancy. You may also manage timelines, address any challenges that arise, and ensure everyone understands their rights and responsibilities. Working closely with fertility clinics, legal teams, and counseling professionals, Case Managers play a critical role in creating a positive and seamless surrogacy experience.
A surrogacy job involves carrying and delivering a baby for intended parents who are unable to conceive or carry a child themselves. A surrogate agrees to undergo pregnancy through either traditional surrogacy (using her own egg) or gestational surrogacy (using the intended parents' or donor's egg and sperm). Surrogates are typically compensated for their time, medical expenses, and related costs. The process involves medical screenings, legal agreements, and emotional commitment to ensure a smooth journey for all parties involved.
To work in the surrogacy field, such as a Surrogacy Case Manager or Coordinator, you need a background in healthcare, social work, or counseling, combined with deep knowledge of reproductive technologies and legal considerations. Familiarity with case management software, patient records systems, and relevant certification in reproductive health or counseling is often required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, sensitivity, organizational abilities, and discretion are key to supporting intended parents and surrogates through complex processes. These competencies ensure ethical, efficient, and compassionate guidance for all parties involved in surrogacy arrangements.
