The Surgical Technologist I facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

What You'll Gain:

Two (2) year commitment as a Full-Time employee with the Memorial Healthcare System required.

Responsibilities:

Assists nursing staff in direct patient care, including preparation, transport, positioning, and draping of patients for surgery.Handles, labels, and processes surgical specimens according to established protocols for safe and accurate delivery to the laboratory.Prepares the operating room by setting up sterile fields with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies tailored to each case.Anticipates the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently during procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique.Collaborates with the sterile processing team to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies.Contributes to a safe and supportive environment by adhering to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.Verifies that surgical instruments and equipment are functioning properly and promptly reports or addresses any issues.Monitors and accounts for instruments, sponges, and supplies throughout each procedure to ensure patient safety.
