Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.
The Clinical Educator & Infection Control Nurse is a full-time, professional nurse position, providing discipline-focused orientation for nursing staff.
Responsibilities
  • Identify and assesses the education needs of clinical staff to ensure that they are competent to provide direct patient care
  • Provide leadership to the nursing staff in the nursing care delivery system in accordance with the hospital's philosophy and established nursing standards of practice of care and policies and procedures
  • Provide infection control orientation for hospital staff
  • Provide leadership and consultation to staff to monitor infection control procedures in accordance with hospital's policies
  • Identify the occurrence of outbreaks or clusters of infectious diseases

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.
  • Work hours: 12-hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekends
Skills:
  • Proficiency in medical terminology for medical documentation is preferred.
  • Experience with behavioral health patient is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients is beneficial.
  • Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
  • Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
