Surgical Intensivists often lead multidisciplinary teams that include surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists. One common challenge is ensuring clear and effective communication among team members, especially during high-pressure situations involving critically ill patients. Developing strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills is essential to facilitate collaboration and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

What is a Surgical Intensivist?

A Surgical Intensivist is a physician who specializes in the care of critically ill surgical patients, usually in the intensive care unit (ICU).
